There has been an ever-increasing need to expand traditional roles beyond "at-need" and "pre-need" services into "after-need" or post funeral services for the bereaved and Mr. Gerald T. Johnson, President of Serenity Memorial Chapel and Serenity Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC has answered the call.
Not all funeral home owners start non-profits. Nor do all funeral home owners have a deeper concern to reach their community. Founder, Gerald T. Johnson formed Mending Hearts Foundation (MHF) a community based organization to deliver a combination of services at no cost to the general public in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan area. It is just one of the ways that Mr. Johnson pours back into the community.
The Mending Hearts Foundation includes Hardship Financial Assistance for funeral services, Grief Counseling for Adults, Young Adults, Youth, Urban Violence Awareness, Veterans Assistance, Veterans Suicide Prevention, and Illegal Overdose Awareness.
